Can It Be All So Simple, Self-published Zine

This project seeks to explore the relationship between film, nostalgia, and identity. All photos are made in my hometown of Albany, Georgia utilizing 35mm and 120 film; the photos were processed and scanned by me at home. Throughout the process of making this project, I focused on the feeling of nostalgia as it relates to sights, scents, and sounds. Some nostalgic feelings came directly from my past experiences in the city and some came from more of a historical perspective. Along with the exploration of nostalgia, comes the question of identity -- my own identity and the identity of others. How does nostalgia lend to the perception of identity? My hopes for this project are for others to somehow see themselves in the photos and to feel nostalgic for a physical place they haven't yet been.
